Everybody knows that people who spend a large part of their day hunched over a workstation can run the possibility of health problems such as repetitive strain injury and eye fatigue. One way to help reduce this likelihood is to take regular breaks. WorkPause is a small program that helps you to do just that.
Once installed, you schedule WorkPause to remind you take regular rests, whether micro, short or long breaks, or even a daily work limit. It will remind you by locking the screen, displaying a message, sounding an alarm or showing a tooltip. You can program these reminders to your liking, increasing or decreasing the frequency and duration and choosing your alert.
For a small program, WorkPause is quite customizable. You can upload your own sound file as an alarm, track your mouse movement and keyboard input so that WorkPause suggests breaks (or locks the screen!) during an idle period, and not in the middle of an important email. It also provides a summary of time worked and breaks taken or postponed, and minimizes to the taskbar.
WorkPause won't revolutionize your life, but if you are the type of person who gets wrapped up in work and forgets to come up for air, it might be the program for you.
